RUGBY LEAGUE PICNIC
AT RAPAHOE TO-MORROW. A final reminder is given of the monster picnic of the West Coast Rugby League to be held at Rapahoe to-mor-row (Sunday). Last year one of the biggest crowds that ever attended a picnic, on the West Coast assembled at Rapahoe for this picnic, and judging by popular talk last year’s crowd will be ecl : psed this year. Two trains are running from Greymouth, one in the morning at 11.23 and the other at 1.30 in the afternoon, and the return fares. 1/4 for adults and 8d for children are within reach of all. The Runanga Silver Band will be in attendance, and a varied sports programme with chil dren’s races and novelty (‘vents, will be presented. Hot water, tea. milk and sugar will be supp Fed free. Every child under the age of seven who travels by train will receive a silver coin. Given a fine day, a most enjoyable outing should be experienced by all those attending. Runners in the inter-club League footballers ’ relay race must run in club colours. Spiked shoes will not be permitted. Trains will leave the riverside station. Additional officialappointed for the main sporting events are: Starters, W. O’Neill and C. Hall; judges, C. Fraser, E. Smith, C. Purnell. In the event of threatening weather country delegates are requested to ’phone numbers 50 or 505, Greymouth.
