ITALIAN NEGOTIATIONS WITH U.S.A. WASHINGTON, November 16. - Signor Grandi arrived to-night to speak for Italy in conferences with Mr Hoover. He came by train from New Jersey, where he transferred from the liner Contegrande, following the arrival in New York harbour. Unfavourable weather caused the cancellation of the proposed flight, to Washington, with Colonel Lindbergh piloting. U.S.A*. TAXATION. WASHINGTON, November 16. Congressional Republican leaders to-day agreed to sponsor tax increases 1 this session. ISenator Wasson, whin, has consistently opposed new taxes, at thlisi time said after the conference with Mr Hoover, that a “boost” is inescapable.
