BOXING

MORGAN V. FAIRHALL BOUTS AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, November 8. A fifteen round boxing contest on Saturday night between Ted Morgan (10.84), and T. Fairhall (10.34), went the full distance, the former getting the decision on points, although a section of the crowd voiced their disapproval of referee Kilmartiii’si award. The bout was not very interesting, being marked by too much wrestling on the ropes and clinching. Morgan frequently forced Fairhall to the ropes, where he would lean on tdp of him. On the other hand. Fairhall, after epeatyJ offences was warned by the referee for holding. Fairhall has gone back since he achieved a sensational victory over Eugene Vo-Haire at Dunedin some years ago, and disappointment was ailso expressed at the fact that Mor gan has not made that progress in the art of boxing which had been expected as tine result o-f his increased experience. In one preliminary, 11. Davis of Otago, knocked F. Prendergast of Southland (holder of the middleweight championship of New Zealand), in the fiourth round.
