In a Motor Car WAR-NING OF GAS DANGER. (Per Press Association), ’WANGANUI, September 12. A two year old boy named Lawrence IJamesi Healy, died, under pccu- , liar circumstances in a. motor car near ! !Kaqai|garoa early this morning. Both | were Lft to sleep on the ma,ttres s on! the flQor of the car, and the parents | looked in a.t them t two or three times i during the dance to see that they: were .11 right. At ab t out 3.30 a.m.,, the pa rents left the dance, and when I startin; the car, the children woke j up an< spoke to the parents. There was stlne trouble in starting the engine on the car, a ( Ford, and later on, on thelroad, the lights went out, and the carl ran off the road, and stuck in some soh’t eflay?. The father went t n I return ty the hall to get another car, and in the meantime, the peculiar ' breathing of the boy attracted the. |attention of his mother another ’relation. ' The noy was unconscious when picked up, and he expired, in a few minuted. A n inquest was hiekl, at which Dr. Adams expressed the opinion that the hoy’s death was due tb- carbon-mono-tide gas entering the floor of the car. Dr. Adami issued a, -warning that it was a dangerous practice to leave children covered up asleep on the floors o>f cars.
