Beyond a jocular remark that he thought it would be a good idea to hold the general olectioin. when the weather became warmer, the Prime Minister (Mr ForbeS) did not give any hint of the date likely to be fixed when approached o' n the question. “I’m afraid I really don’t know much about it,” he remarked, “but it will depend a good deal on how long the session lasts. ’ ’ Agreement Avas expressed by Mr Foi-bes with a suggestion that it was better to hold the election when the weather was warm than in wintry weather, but he would not say definitely that the date would be prior to Carnival Week in November.
