PLOT FOR REVOLUTION
x Foiled in Cuba AFTER GRIM BATTLE. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable, Assn.) HAVANA (Cuba), August 9. A revolutionary plot has been foiled here with the arrest of seventeen Oppositionist leaders, aud the confiscation cf the rebel. arsenal. This was effected after a gun battle, | in which three revolutionaries were killed, and seven policemen were wounded. President Machado has declared martial law in the capital and in the neighbouring provinces.
