WHAT WILL HAPPEN? WELLINGTON, June 25. lu reply to a question as to the pre bable length of the session. Mr Forbes indicated that he .thought it might run about the u-ual time. “We \v±T bring down the Budget, containing the Gov-ernment-s financial proposals, as soon as we possibly can,” he said. “I don t suppose that will be before the end of July; I think we should have the ac counts audited and everything in readiness by then. Then, after the estimates have been dealt with, very little will remain to be done. The Transport Bill will be referred to a Committee of the House for the purpose of hearing
evidence. Legislation will also r e introduced embodying the recommendations of the committee which reported recently on the question of better and safer building to resist earthquake. “One cannot judge from this distsnee how long the session may last, but financial measures have to be pui through and, of course, if the other part es in the House do not support the Government, then there is the alternative of a crash, and .that will mean an early election. ’ ’ The means of finding extra finance is now receiving considerat’on by th? Government. and apparently little of a definite nature has yet been determin ed.
