(Frotr Our Own CerroflpondentA. REE ETON. Anri] 23. There was a attendance of members uf the Chib at the Roefton Bowling Club’s pavilion last evening, when Hie members farewelled Mr T. .1. Mct’awe, who for the past six years has been one of its most proficient players. Mr J. Noble, president, expressed the regret of all members at Mr McCawe’'s departure from Reefton. where he h id been an asset to the Club, owing to-.the keen interest he took in instructing new players, and wished the best of health -and continued prosperity to himself, Mrs MeCawc and family in his new sphere at Pahiatua, and asked. Mr MeCawc’s acceptance of a set of military brushes as a memento from members. Messrs V. Mori, J. B. Auld, C. H.’ Cleaver, and H. Cooper also spoke, all regretting that Mr MeCawc was compelled. owing to the exigencies of the Department, to move on. Mr MeCawc, in replying, regretted his departure from Reefton, where he had spent, six of the happ’est years of his life. He had been a bowler for 17 years, commencing at Invercargill, and nowhere had he joined a better or more - sociable class of bowlers than in Reefion. He congratulated the Club on their progress during the past season, and predicted further successes. He thanked them for their handsome gift,-and for the good wishes for himself and MJ’s McCawe, and invited all members who night pass through Pahiatua to call on him there, and he would give them a i good time. “Auld Lang Sync” concluded a pleasant time.
