(Our Own Correspondent.) Very welcome rain fell on Saturday. ,and it was a beautiful day on SunThe cricket match here, Reefton v. [Blackwater on Sunday resulted in a decisive win for Reefton by an innings hind 67 runs. The Reefton scores were: ' —Blom 36. Hunt 3, Ryan 4, Hepburn 13, Scott 18, Lawson 8. Bonifacio 9, I Hanna 0. Griggs 10, Woods 38, Slattery 0, extras 7; total 145. Scurr secured S wickets, and Galland 2. Blackwater Hirst innings scorers were:—Scurr 3, i Ridd 0, Pfahlert 0, Galland 1, T. Ban- [ nan 0, B. Bannan 2, Bradley 0, Duggan 13, S. Bannan 1, O’Neil 0, P. Bannan 0; j total 10. Blackwater followed on, their second innings scores being:— I Scurr 7. Ridd 23. Pfahlert 23, Galland iO, T. Bannan 0, B. Bannan 0, Bradley 13. Duggan 4, A. Bannan 2. O’Neil 2, jJ’. Bannan 0; total 68; grand total 78. * The work on the water race will stop I for the Christmas holidays at the end i of the week. -Mr and Mrs George Mclnroe have been to the end of the race on horse back on a tour of inspection to-day. Air Blake Huffam hopes to have his benzine bowser operating early next year. Miss Edie Cooper, of Blackwater, was the lucky winner of the Christmas dinner at the bazaar in Ikamatua on Saturday night last. The weather here on Monday was decidedly cold and showery. It felt, like approaching snow.
