BIG RADIO STATION

For Ireland (Aus. and N.Z Cable Assn.) (Received Fob. .16 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 15. The Irish Free State is now t> have its own high power Station for radio broadcasting, from which programmes will bp broadcasted. Plans have been submitted by the Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs for the erection of the Transmitter, which will probably cost £70,000, and these plans have now been officially passed. Although the actual site has not been definitely decided upon, it is considered likely that the new Station will be built near Athlone.
