At. cricket St. (‘Janice’s Club drew with Granity, scoring 104 (Bonifacio 50, Carr 26) to 73 for 5 wickets (Tc.irhert 37, Goodall 15, Mann 13). AH the schools in the district resumed yesterday after the Christmas vacation.

Sergeant C. H. McGlone returned to Westport on Saturday evening. Mr J. Moyle is acting as temporary teacher at the State School. Miss J. Archer has joined the staff oT the Westport State School. On Thursday evening some trial events will be held at the swimming baths for points for the Waterside?*’ Cup. The competitors will be boys and girls under 16 years, and the distances will be 3.3 1-3, 66| and 100 yards. A business man in Palmerston Street had at his front door a lump of lead for the purpose of keeping the door open, but someone has '‘pinched’’ the load. The dyer is now dying to know what led the thief to do it.
