The death took place at Palmerston North, as the result of a motor accident, of Mr Patrick McGlone, aged 77. Deceased was at one time engaged in gold digglTig at Kumara, and worked a claim with the la e R. J. Seddon.
The death occurred at Christchurch Ho pital on Saturday of Francis Smitheran, aged 17. Deceased was the son of Mr and Mrs T. S. Smitheran. of Runanga, and was a pupil of the Greymouth Technical School. The interment will take place at Karoro this afternoon.

A presentation was made on behal£ of members of the Greyinouth Police Force last evening to Constable G. J. Robinson, whose marriage to Miss Kathleen Robins takes place at Holy Trinity Church this morning. The presentation took place in the Watch House, all sections of the force being represented. An apology fo r absence was tendered by Inspector Fitzpatrick. Senior Sergeant Roach, in presenting i handsome dinner service to Constable Robinson, asked him to accept the gift •t< a token of goodwill from all sections of the force. Constable Robin son had been with them some sixteen months, and they all looked on him as a jolly good fellow, and wished him and his future bride every happiness. Sergeant J. Smyth, Detective H. C. Murch. and Cons ables E. J. C. Hay, C. J. Paddy, J. G. Brown A. J. Patterson and D. Austin (District Clerk) each expressed their good wishes concerning the recipient.
