BY N.Z. MOTOR CYCLISTS. [ Two at Auckland. _ (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, March 3. At the motor cycle races at Devonport, Percy Coleman, on a 7 h.p. Har-ley-Davidson, covered a dying mile in 44 4-5 seconds. This is a world s record. C. Goodwin, on a 2] h.p. Royal Enfield. established a world’s record for middle-weight machines by covering a dying mile in 47 3-5 seconds. K. Kanby, on a 3$ h.p. Indian, covered a dying mile in 46 4-5 seconds, a New Zealand record.
A raee of three miles between an aeroplane, piloted by Lieut lan Keith, and a motor cycle ridden by Coleman, proved disappointing. Coleman quickly ran away from the aeroplane, whieh had difficulty in dying low and turning the corners with safety. Shore handicap: K. Yates (Rex Acme) 20 see 1, S. Roberts (Rex Acme) 35 sec 2, J.
