Mr A. Dakuol, of Nelson Creek, who was operated on at the Grey RiWr Hospital on Tuesday, is now progressing favourably. Mr J.. Lee re turned to Beef ton yesterday morning after attending the md-tiug of shareholders in the Alexander Mines. Mr W. Taylor, of the firm of Beath and Coy., Christchurch, returned yesterday after a visit to Greymouth. Mr H. Smith to Wellington by yesterday’s express, after visiting the firm of C. Smith, Ltd., Grey vnouth.

Outward passengers by yesterday’s express included Dr G. Scholefield Librarian, for Dunedin), Mr H. Smith (Wellington), Mr A. Walker (Ship Underwriters’ Association representative) Miss A. Woods, and Mr F. Garth. A well-known and respected Blackball resident, Mrs Justina Aynsley, passed away yesUrday after a brief illness at her residence at the age of 77 years. She was a native of Belfast, Ireland, and arrived on th!? West Coast sixty years ago. She leaves a large family, several of whom are well known residents of the district. The fun-ral takes place to-day, at Karoro Cemetery, leaving the Blackball Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Mr R. P. Hudsofn, ex-M.P., for Motueka, and Mrs Hudson, were enterained by a larg e gathering of electors at Motueka prior to their leaving on a visit to Ceylon (says a Nelson press wire). A pre.C-ntation was miade to Mr Hudson of a handsome solid silver iea service, as a token of esteem and appreciation for his fourteen years valuabA 4 and honourable services to the electorate and the Dominion.
