BOWLING.

WEST COAST TOURNEY. Section Play. COMPLETED YESTERDAY. The annual tournament of the West Coast Centr e was continued at Hokitika and at Greymouth yeseterday.. At Greymouth the green was rather heavy, due to misty rain which fell for a good part of the day. Play commenced on the local green at 8.30 a.m., and the bowling was of a high standard throughout. A number of closely contested games were witnessed, the Brebner-Morgan rinks, in the fourth round., and \Gagliardi-Brebner rinks in the fifth, and the Collins-Mc-Kay rinks, in the sixth round, all providing /more than .ulsual excitement, as the results were in doubt right up to the final head. At the finish of the twenty-first head in the Collins-McKay content both teams were level pegging, with scores of 18 each, and an extra head had to be played. It proved most exciting, but one of Collins’ men lay his bowl touching * ‘ kitty.. ” and that decided the issue in favour of his rink. At Hokitika the weather was overcast, but the green played even better than on Monday, as the result of overnight showers. Following are the results of yesterday’s play in both Centre?: —
