CORRESPONDENCE.
blackball cemetery. (To the Editor). Sir, — I was vqry glad to see a letter in the “Argus” drawing attention to the above. I and others were despairing of ever seeing a good clean up, and if the Trustee will not do anything, then I trust the general public will call a meeting. IT they still decide on Trustees, then appoint those who have ground, and relatives at rest. None -of the former Trustees hr.d such, and apparently did not take, ar.y interest in it. As women have been a success on school committees, they would be a success as trustees. At least one of the Trustees might be a woman. 1 have been a resident for over thirty years, I have relatives at rest there, and when I go down to tidy up the plots, I notice mostly women cleaning up. I don’t wonder at relatives going to Greymouth Cemetery. Although there have been quite a number of plots taken up, for some years' nothing has been spent in improvements. There should be a good bank balance. If a woman is elected, let; her be treasurer. Complaints are also; made about the wilful destruction of glass globes and wreaths, and nothing, is done to detect the culprits. Trusting some good will follow tfii&—l am, etc., TRUTH.
