CORRESPONDENCE.
A QUERY. (To thh Editor.) Sir, —For a considerable time I have noticed that persons convicted of being on licensed premis s after hours (even those who. give a false name) are able to havw their names suppressed by the newspapers; while those eon vietrd of riding bicycles after sundown, without lights hav(j their names published. Would you kindly let the public know why this is done, and can you justify such proceedings?— I am etc.. CYCLIST. Greymouth, 14th January, 1929. (On. J obvious reason for publishing the names of those convicted of riding bicycles without lights after sundown, is that the offence constitutes such a serious menace to public safety —Ed Argus.)
