BRIGAND HANGED.
In Public Square. LONDON, December 11. “The Times’s” Sofia correspondent states: The notorious brigand chief Sekulitchi, met an ignomkious end at Kustendial, where the inhabitants woke up to find his body suspended from a tree in the public square, near the monument of the Macedonian Chief, Theodor Alexandroff. Sekulitchi was one of thc most formidable leaders of marauding bands, whom he mobilised on the Yangtze side of the frontier, and often raided Bulgarian territory. He was formerly an anarchist operating in Serbia, and carried out many anti-Macedonian outrages. He organised the recent attempt to blow up the Alexandroff monument. The Macedonian organisation
captured the brigand and carried out the execution at night time. Pinned to the corpse was a placard, stating: ‘‘Such is the fate of all traitors.” The body was allowed to hang throughout thc morning.
