OUTCRY AGAINST INCREASED FARES. COMPANY’S AFFAIRS INVESTIGATED. SYDNEY, Ded Biber 11. The outcry by ferry travellers against the “increased fares, across the harbour, induced the Government to appoint a Royal Commission, whose report was tabled in Parliament today , Ii set out that the Sydney Ferries Coy. Ltd., was over capitalised and reserves had accumulated in excess of minimum requirenl ints. With this excess, bonus shares had been provided upon which dividends of £93,703 were continuously payable. The company ’s methods wer»J therefore prejudicial to ferry users, while certain paying services were being made to pay for nonprof liable services.
