GENERAL ADVANCE IN PRICES SMALLER OFFERING DUE TO WET WEATHER. NAPIER, November 2d. Thu opening wood sales of the season, in Napier, was held this afternoon when under 12,000 bales were catalogued against 16,000 of last Noyem ber. The interruption o£ shearing by wet weather, is responsible for the emallnqss o* the offering. The condition of the wool is exceptionally gofod, being . equal to 1924-25, Hawke’s Bay’s best season, and this contributed in some m| asure to satisfactory prices being obtained.

Genially prices were an. improvement ’on the opening sale of last season, and showed an all round advance on thix Wellington sale last week, the average improvement being at least a penny. Pieces and necks w’ere threepence bettl'r than at Wellington, hoggets were quite a penny, and fleece wool, generally, half a penny to threefarthings. Super-erossbrLid, suitable for America, and also pieces aud necks were keenly sought after. Right through the sale com(pctition was exceptionally spirited, and well distributed among a full bench 'of buyers representing all sections of trade.
