THE EMPLOYERS’ REP. QUESTION OF BEING AN INTERESTED PARTY. AUCKLAND, November 5. Au unusual application, the first of it:; kind in the Dominion, has been made to the Arbitration Court by the ‘ nial'iamalod Engineers’ Federation, in i-onnoetion with the hearing of the General Engineers’ and Moulders dispute in Christchurch next Tuesday. The employees have applied to the Minister of Labour to arrange, for an employers’ assessor on the Court, Mi G. T. Booth to temporarily vacate his seat in accordance with the Arbitration AM. which provides that when the permanent member of the Court is himself a party to the. dispute, and is consequently unable to act as a member, another nominated member may act in his stead. The application is that Mr Booth, prior to his appoiniment to the Court, was managing director of Booth, McDonald and Coy , Ltd., manufacturers of agricultural implements, and, as such, was a arge employer of labour interested in the engineering industry. • . a If the demand is successful, Mr ■ • E Wright, Deputy-Assessor for the employees, and Secretary of the Auckland Employers’ Association, will take Mr Booth ’s place,
