The Waratahs WELCOMED AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, 15. The New South Wales Rugby football team, b-tter known as the Waratahs, arrived in Auckland this morning bv the Aorangi, and were the guests of the Auckland Rugby Union at luncheon. Amongst those present were Messis S. S. Dean (Chairman of the Management Committee of the N.Z. Rugby Union). J. Arneil (President of the Auckland Rugby Union), 11. Frost (Chairman), ami several members of the Auckland Rugby Union; C. E. O. Badelev and F. W. Lucas (members of 1924 All Blacks), V. Y. Richardson (Captain of the Australian cricket team at present in Auckland), and several representative ami ex-representa-tive footballers. Mr Dean welcomed the team, and congratulated it upon its success abroad, and his remarks were endorsed by Mr Arneil. In his reply, Mr Shaw, manager of the team, referred to the good feeding that existed between N.S.W. ami New Zealand in Rugby circles. N.S.W. had a lot to thank New Zealand for. lie was confident the game would become firmly established in Victoria and Queensland during the coming winter. It already had a footing in Victoria, and as there was every probability of Lawton settling in Brisbane, h ■ would make a strong endeavour to re-estab-lish the code in the Queensland capiThe team was taken for a motor run this afternoon. which was held at the Gladstone Hall yesterday morning. Mr W. Sumner acted as chairman. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance sheet approved. It was resolved on the motion of .the ('hairman that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded the Secretary (Mr W. Fitzgerald) for services rendered to the ('tub during the past season. The following officers wore elected: President, Mr W. T. Ogilvie; VicePresident, Mr W. Sumner; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. Fitzgerald; (Hub Captain. Mr F. Wilson ; Field Captain. Mr J.
