DOUBLE DROWNING In the Surf WELLINGTON. March 25. While bathing at Titahi Bay this afternoon, a young man, J. Pope, was drowned. lie lost his life while attempting to rescue a young lady. 11 is attempt failed. Th lady’s body has not. yet been recovered. The lady’s name is not yet known. BUS KILLS ELDERLY WOMAN. AUCKLAND, March 25. Through being knocked won by a motor bus in Broadway. Newmarket, last night, Mrs Kate Hudson Williamson, aged 75 y ars, of Orakei Road. Rcmuera, sustained injuries to the head. She died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. TRAIN RUNS OVER A MAN. WELLINGTON, March 25. A fatal accident occurred at Johnsonvill • about 8 p.m. on Saturday night, when a man. whose identity has not yet been established, was run over by a train. He was sent to Thorndon in the guard’s van of a train, and was taken to the hospital by the free ambulance. The injured man. who was suffering from a fractured skull and injuries to the chest, died short Iv after admission.
