LIQUOR POLLS

METHODIST PROPOSAL. CHRISTCHURCH, February 25. The following resolution was carried at the Methodist Conference. The Methodist Church of New Zealand in Conference assembled, and representing 122,000 Methodists, respectfully requests Prime Minister to introduce a a Licensing Amendment Bill containing the three main issues of the bill passed ■ by the House of Representatives last session, viz. one triennial poll, two two issue ballot paper, and three a bare majority vote. The conference urges that a bill be introduced immediately after a debate upon the address in reply, and that it be given every facility for its passage, through the houses of parliament during the stages of ap preaching session. We believe that such a bill is strongly desired by a majority of electors in New Zealand. The conference also passed a resolution against Greyhound racing l with mechanical hares.
