ROYAL MUMMIES

REINTERMENT URGED. BY EG Y PTI/k N EX- MINISTE R. LONDON, February 8. The “Times’s” Cairo correspondent says: Reinterment of all th e Royal mummies in their own sarcophagi and a return to the original tombs, is a proposal cx-Cabinet Minister, Ismail Sidky, submitted to Parliament. He says that any scientific results from disintering the mummies is completed, and further exposure merely panders to vulgar public curiosity, especially In foreign tourists. No other nation would dream of allowing the exhibition of Royal remains, whien is also not in accord with the practice of the ancient Egyptians, who employed every precaution to ensure respect for the dead.
