DOCTOR FINED £5O

WELLINGTON, Nvembcr 2
Intoxication while in charge of a motor car in a Welington Street on Saturday fiiight, admitted by Joseph Patrick Hennessey, medical practitioner, aged 47, vho appeared before Mr. J. 11. Salmon in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon. Hennessey’s car collided with a tram car. The police stated that he had been convicted of a similar offence at Auckland on September 12, 1925, when he was fined £25. Counsel for defendant said his client contracted malaria and shou not have taken liquor. IL? was not feeling well and had taken a largo dose of quinine and two or three .stiff whiskies.
Dr. Hennessey was fined £5O rnd costs and his license was suspended until April 1, 1930.
For being intoxicated while driving a car Charles Edward Bell, by trade a baker, aged 47. was fined £2O.
