It is rather illuminating to note that, with ihe exception of Imprint and Sheik, the whole of the 22 entrants are trailed in Canterbury, and not one of the prospective field <-omes from the North Island. The eligible whose owners did not nominate were Logan Lou and Nelson Derby (unsound), Native Chief (a nonstayer), Away, Jewel (retired), Pedro Pronto (in Australia) ami St. /Maura.
