AUSTRALIAN CLERKS AWARD. (Australian and N.Z. Cab.e Assn.) MELBOURNE, July 8. A new log, prepared by the Federated Clerks’ Union of Australia, to be submitted to the Arbitration Court, asks equal pay for men and women, the basic wage to be £6 at twentyone years of age, fixed daily hours, nine to five, observance of all public holidays with payment at the rate of treble time for working on holidays and Sundays, three weeks’ annual holiday on full pay, and thirteen weeks’ leave after ten years’ service. The wages claimed, other than the minimum range up to £lB weekly for accountants and chief clerks.
