RUNANGA NOTES.

(Our Own Correspondent). A concert in aid of St Thomas’s Building Fund was held in the Miners’ Hull on Friday, a large crowd being present. Items were rendered by local talent and also by visitors from Greymouth and Cobden, The winners of the Bowlers’ euchre tournament were Mrs O’Rourke 1, Mrs McCracken 2. On Sunday two very interesting games of football were witnessed at JPunollie. The J uniors had a draw with the Blackball, but the Seniors came off gloriously; defeating Blackball by 20 to 5. The League footballers are holding their annual ball '■’oni the 22nd July. The Social Committee have commenced their preparations, and by all accounts it appears to be the aim of the Committee to make this ball ‘ ‘ the ball ’ ’ of the season. Mr Campbell, whilst working at the Rewanui Mine, had the misfortune to hurt his foot, thus causing him to be laid up for a feew weeks.
