THE WEATHER.
RAIN COMING. WELLINGTON, June 20. Mr D. C. Bates reports- The present indications are for south-easterly winds, strong to gale, northward or Westport and Kaikoura, veering to westerlies shortly; and to moderate to strong easterlies to increasing northerly winds elsewhere. The weather will be cold and boisterous, with heavy rain in the North Island and m the north-east districts of the South,, but fair to cloudy for a short time m the western and southern portion of the South Island. The barometer is rising in the North, but falling soon in the South for an approaching westerly disturbance.
