WELLINGTON BROADCAST STATION. (Per Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, June 20. It is now stated that the date for the official opening of Broadcast Station 2YA, Wellington, will be July 16. AUCKLAND, June 20. ; A speed boat, Miss X, owned by R. M. Hoyos, was destroyed by fire off Orakei Wharf on Sunday afternoon. An explosion occurred as the boat was drifting from the wharf. She. was quickly enveloped in flames. The two occupants dived over the side, and swam ashore. The boat was uninsured. The loss is estimated at £BOO or £9OO. WELLINGTON, June 20. Leonard Archibald Dark, and his son, Philip Leslie Dark, riding a motor cycle, came into collision last night with a taxicab in Upper Willis Street The son suffered a compound fracture of the right leg, which may have to be amputated. The father had the riKht leg badly broken. Both are in Hos- ‘ An unknown man was picked up by a passing motorist on the Hutt Road on Saturday night. The man was suffering from serious head injuries, and lies unconscious in the Hospital.
