GIANT PLANE.
300 Miles an Hour. U.S.A. VENTURE. WASHINGTON, June 16. The U.S.A. Navy Department have announced that they are completing an aeroplane capable of flying at a speed of 300 hour. This machine will contain Xv'hat is considered to be the largest aeroplane engine ever built, consisting of 25 cylinders, and developing 1250 horse-power. An effort will be made to exceed the speed record held by the French of 278.48 miles per hour. The engine will be adaptable for use in heavy bombing land seaplanes.
