The visiting golfers were yesterday the guests of the Killara Club, where in a friendly game the local players beat a team of visiting players, including Horton and Quin, by six games to two. The semi-final of the Amateur Championship will be played to-day, and the final on Saturday. Owing to the alteration in steamer arrangements in consequence of the Ulimaroa’s postponed sailing, the Now Zealand golfers are returning in the Maheno to-morrow, abandoning a number of functions arranged in their honour. N.S.W. TOURNEY. SYDNEY, June 16. The semi-finals it the New South Wales Golf Championship were hold in showery weather. Both matches were keenly contested. Apperly and Whitton were all square at the conclusion of the morning round, and in the afternoon Whitton was two up, with six to play. Apperly then made a great effort and squared the match at the fifteenth hole, and he eventually won by one up. Smith was one up on Russell after the first eighteen holes, and though Russell twice squared the match, the younger player hung grimiy to his task and won by one up.
A small party of the New Zealand 'team are staying in Sydney, and are fulfilling their remaining fixtures.
