ODD STOCKINGS FOR FEMALES. LONDON, April 7. Paul Poiret, the famous Parisian dress designer, has advanced a plea for odd legs. He says: “I am tired of seeing the wombn dress all alike, with the same hats, same dresses, and same differentiation in colour. Woman has two legs, why should not one l?e clothed in a light stocking and one in dark. The time has arrived for a change.
BRITISH MOTOR REGULATIONS. LONDON, April 7. Sir Joynson Hicks, in answer to a question, said the amount paid to the Exchequer in 1925 in respect to fines under the Motor Cars Act of 189 G and 1903 was £149,380, and the number of persons fined was 135,985. In the Commons, Sir W. Joynson Hicks announced that an agreement had been reached for a new scale of taxi-cab fares, namely sixpence for the first two-thirds of a mile, and threepence for each additional one-third, with four shillings an hour for waiting.
