THREE DEAD EVERY HOUR

Three workers are killed on an average every hour by industry in the United States, according to figures submitted by E. H. Lewinski Corwin, director of Hospital Information Bureau of New York.

Corwin gave his statistics to tin- 28fli annual convention of the American Hospital Association. Every year 700,000 -workers are disabled for at least four weeks, he said. Industrial accidents are increasing, despite employers’ so-called safety campaigns, Corwin showed. The reasons he gave: general speeding up of workers; increased number of new men taken on after the last depression; safety work retarded since war and safety engineers taken off company payrolls to allow welfare depart meats without expert technical knowledge to handle safety.
