New Zealand Gone the Limit. BRITISH RECOGNITION. (Received February 15 at 10 p.m.) LONDON, February 15. The Overseas Settlement Department is asking for supplement ary appropriations for assisted passengers for the fiscal year ending on March 31st next, including for Australia £90,000; for New Zealand £20,000 and- for Canada £40,000. It is anticipated that the coming year will require further Canadian increases, owing to the operation of the ‘‘Two Pound” scheme. New Zealand is now expected to remain static. ■ The Department is satisfied New Zea land is- absorbing immigrants to the limit of her capacity. Regarding Australia, it is expected that the activities and developments of the Migration Commission will ultimately quicken the fto migration there.
