Payne rushed to a drawer, seized a revolver, and slightly wounded Henry, who ran screaming to the kitchen. Payne followed, firing four shots, and killing her. He returned to the sitting room fatally shot his wife, and locked himself in a bedroom and committed suicide with Hie revolver. ' The Paynes reecnrry made a world tour, and the husband returned suffering from melancholia.
