ACROSS THE TASMAN.
RADIO FOR N.Z. AUSTRALIANS FRIENDLY 7 L AY. SYDNEY, July 6. A number of prominent business men are considering a scheme whereby listeners-in in New Zealand will be able to participate in the Australian wirelessly broadcasted programmes. It has been suggested that in order to overcome the difference in time, whereby New Zealanders at present are retiring to bed, just when the Australian musical programmes are commencing, one or more broadI casting stations in each State could devote one programme each week to special broadcasting, for New Zealand, to eliminate any hardship which otherwise might bo caused. The Australian public, and the New Zealand Government could earmar? a percentage of the listening-in fees to defray the cost of this. It is suggested that creation of this common interest will do much to bring the two countries closer together, and help people to know one another bettor.
