D. McLEAN IX “GOING UP.”

Those who have flown in an aeroplane, those who have yet to make their first flight, and those who have vowed they’ll never risk their necks in one will frnd an overflowing measure of mirth in “Going Up,” Douglas Mac Lean’s screen adaptation of the musical comedy success, which opens at the Opera House to-night (Friday) only The funniest moments of “Going Up” come as they should at the finish, when Air ATacLean, posing as ■ ’the celebrated aviator author, is forced ' \' O f]y a machine against a celebrated • ’French aviator. Jack Hoxie has the role of a defend- ■ er of the victims of the rapacity of a big irrigation company, in “The Sign of the Cactus,” Blue Streak Western to be shown at Opera House to-morrow, Saturday at the matinee, and again at night. There are two big spectacular scenes in the picture; one when Hoxie, as the nemesis of a grasping irrigation company, blows up the dam which impounds the water needed by the ranchers facing ruin, and the other when Hoxie saves from death in a rushing river, the daughter of the head of tin irrigation company. Helen Holmes, I famous serial star, is Hoxie’s leading .woman, and others in a strong cast are Josef Swickard, Francis Ford, J. Gordan Russell, Jack Pratt, Frank New berg, Aluriel Frances Dana, and Bobby Gordon. The supports include Larry Bern on in his latest comedy success. COMING—MONDAY. All remember ‘The Covered Wagon.’ Emerson Hough has written another stirring epic of the pioneers that has been made into one of the greatest pictures of the early West that have appeared on the screen. It is “North of 36,” which comes to tho Opera House on ATonday ami Tuesday next, and Jack Holt, Lois Wilson, Ernest Torrence and Noah Beery appear in the principal roles. STEREOSCOPIES.
