Riddiford’s horses, Fool’s Paradiso, Black Cat, and Royal Divorce at Ellerslie, E. A. Keesmg will pilot Quincoma in his engagements. Mason (Haze and Nincompoop). The Gisborne sportsman, Mr D, J. Barry, promises to be well represented at the coming summer meeting at EllersLe, and his team will probably comprise Automaton, Ngawati and Ph read needle. K. J. Mason is giving some attention to a trio of two-year-olds, all by Sutala. A chestnut gelding from Greenstreet is- a big fellow, who looks as if he might bo useful with a bit of time. Tuohey has been engaged to ride Gala Day in the Auckland Cup. J. T. Jamieson expects to have a team of eight at Ellerslie for the Auckland summer meeting. His representatives will include Spoony, Steel Bar. Gold Acre, Tea Bell, Dimmer, Nippy, and Dal Eaton. The New Zealand Cup winner, Scion has joined R. C. Keeper’s team at Orari. The Boni form gelding has enjoyed a holiday of over a year, and looks sound and in good order to begir

a preparation. Haze, 'Fhe Banker, Count Cavour, and Rapine are the favourites for the Auck land Cup, being fancied in that order Clareina has been responsible for : few brilliant track gallops lately (says the Lyttelton Times), and she only has to repeat them in public to win good races. GREYMOUTH TROTTING CLUB. (To the Editor.) Sir.—Being- a ‘‘sport” and a visitor to this town I naturally found my way to the 'Greymouth Trotting Club’s track. The track itself appeals to the visitor as one on which good times should be recorded. The inner grand stand is a great credit to the chib, but the outer stand is a disgrace that should not exist for another day. The filthy state of the seats, floor and railings, is simply awful, owing to birds perching on the rafters. After spending many thousands of pounds on the beautiful inner stand, surely the. club has a ‘‘tenner” to spare for lining fhe outer with half-inch wire netting, and leaving no gaps that birds can get through. 1 am etc., I BUTTINSKI.
