Two stragglers reported to the American Consul, who has sent them forward as passengers by the Uuimaroa. THE LIGHT CRUISER DIVISION. HOBART, August 8. Tho light cruiser division left for New Zealand amidst scenes of unprecedented enthusiasm. Lord Strndbroke is a passenger aboard th e Richmond for Wellington. .MELBOURNE, August 8. Tho United States destroyer, Chase hating completed engine repairs, sailed for New Zealand. AUSTRALIAN FLEET VISIT TO U.S.A. MELBOURNE, August 8. Mr Norman, United States Consul, said he thought that it would be an excellent idea for Australia to return the call just made by America. He suggested that vessels of the Australian Fleet should cross the Pacific and visit Seattle, San Francisco and other west coast porta, then passing through the Panama Canal, and visiting such places as New Orleans, New York and Boston. Ho thought the advertisement received would far outweigh the expenditure involved. This is giving 1 concrete expression to an idea which was a favourite theme with American officers while in Melbourne.
