RUHR EVACUATION
A FURTHER STAGE. (Received August 6 at 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, August i>. The Conference of Ambassadors have passed ■ a resolution, requesting the Inter-Allied Military Commission to instruct the military authorities in the occupie darea of Germany to evacuate Dusseldorf, Duisberg, <nd Ruhrort. SECURITY QUESTIONS. LONDON, August 5. It is expected that M. Briand will visit London next week. It is believed that the diplomat io discussions with regard to the security pact are advanced so far that a meeting of the English and French Foreign Secretaries may be sufficient to clinch matters. It is hinted that M. Briand may wish also to touch on the question of debts. FRENCH WAR DEBT. LONDON, August 5. In the Commons, Mr Guinness said that the official negotiations as regards the French war debt were begun on July 27. The French experts had returned to Paris to consult their Government. Mr Guinness presumed that the negotiations would be resumed i i due course. His Majesty’s Government felt convinced that the time had come when this question should ba brought to a conclusion.
