OFFER TO KRIM
NOT WHAT HE WANTS. PARIS, August 5. According to “Le Matki,” the Franco Spanish peace terms provide that Abd-el Krim shall recognise the sovereignty of the Sultan of Morocco, and that France and Spain shall recognise the administrative autonomy of the Riffs. The Powers will maintain a police force in the Riff cularg-d zones. Ceuta and Melilla will ’ belong to Spain. The League of Nations will control the new boundaries. The newspapers learn from Madrid that if Abd-el Krim has not replied by August 15, the Spanish troops will start an offensive, preceded by landings on the coast. “L ’Eclair” says that France will meanwhile strive by all means to effect the final destruction of Abd-ul Krim, KRIM’S CUTBNE3S. “DOCTORS” DETAILS OF TERMS. PARIS, August 5. The peace terms published by “Le Matin” do not correspond with the Franco-Spanish terms, which incidentally were not officially communicated by De Rivera to Abd El Krim’a agents. The Quai d’Orsay is convinced that » the terms published emanate front ■ Abd El Krim himself. Abd El Krim, hitherto, has avoided coming into touch with the Franco-Spanish delegates deputed to acquaint him with the peace terms.
