Pompey and Bretland, who are en gaged in the Winter Cup and other flat events, arrived on Sunday from Auckland, and they were given light exer cise this morning. _ I Sir Roseberry, Boomerclay and Tinkaha left Auckland last 'night and they are expected at Rieearton to-morrow Jubilant has been recommissioned by W G. Hobbs. She looks bright and fresh after her short spell. Gay Juh?t will probably join the active division in about a week. Xhikr. is a recent addition to K. Fllis's team. He will be a competitor ,n hunters' races at the approaching meetings, having been qualified th-■ winter. The Washdyke trainer, P. T. Hogan, is expected on Thursday with Captain I Sarto, who will compete in the hmdie race at the Christchurch Hunt meeting Saturday, as a preliminary to engagements at the Grand National meeting. R. C. Keeper is bringing four horses from Oraii this week. The three-year old Volant will take part in the maiden hack races, while Night Raid. Mainspring and New Day are to compete in hunters’ events. S. Trilford is r.'.ilikcly to include Golden Prinee in his team for Rieearton. When he arrives he will probably have Kipling, Frisco Mail, Mountain Lion, The Harp and Kaikahu under his care. LADY JOAN SOLD. Mr W. J. Morland has sold the paC ing mare Lady .loan, by Logan Pointer —Belette, to Mr F. M'Gregor, of Auckland. She will go mirth shortly ,to be trained by E- S. Groat. Lady Joan was a good stake-winner this season, and she is eligible for the New Zcalte.id Trotting Cup.
