Buller, was plnyed at Y’ietoria Square to-day on a heavy groraid, under adverse went her conditions, in the presence <>t a large gat liering of spectators, and wns won by Buller by six goals to four. The game, under the circumstances, was a brilliant exposition of hockey, and is regarded ns having been the most thrilling ever played vn a local field. Walker shot a good goal for Buller, Luckey adding ii'iinthcr. Then Clark and Craig each goaled for Australia, levelling tho scores, three all. Buller pressed the attack and Larsen and Stowell (2) notched further goals, bringing Buller's total up to six. Just on time, Seaman shot a pretty goal for Australia, the game ending Buller 6; Australia 4. Buller’s front line played a solid game and Davies (full back) and Bowden (half) were also very sure i>a thenwork, Davies, on his display, being regarded as certain of a place in the New Zealand team.
