LONDON, July 26. “The Daily’ Express'’ states: “The Committee of Imperial Defence, have completed a report on British milita ypolicy in Egypt, which matter has b? 'i l referred to by Mr Ramsay MacDonald. The report stresses the vital strategic importance of the Suez Canal, and i<commends that, whatever our political relations with Egypt, an adequate force of British troops should be maintained on the canal banks, r.i.ifl that there be naval patrols kept on the canal in order to protect, these troop patrols from possible aggression from land. A British force must be maintained continuously- in Cairo. The report, therefore, recommends that th? number of troops there now, 12,00’) should nowise be reduced.”
