UNION'S INTENTIONS

The Secretary of the Seamen’s I nion, Mr. M alsh, states that he intends to communicate with the shipowners on Tuesday, and notify them what progress the seamen are making in consideration of the terms of settlement laid down, and the probable date the Union desired the conference again to be called togethWQRKERS OFFER TO MAINTAIN SERVICES. SYDNEY, July 25. A meeting of the Transport. Group resolved in order that the community should suffer no inconvenience as the result of the present- disclocation of the shipping industry, the group offers its co-operation to the Prime Minister in maintaining inter-State services. It considered that the Government should commission all the idle vessels of the Commonwealth Line and other idle vessels in various ■ports of the Commonwealth, which th e group will undertake to work in accordance with the terms of the ag reement between the Commonweaitn Shipping Board and the Group.
