GISBORNE, July 25.

The sc-eo.id day of the Gisborne Racing Club’s meeting was held in good weather before a large attendance. The machine investments for the day were £16,947, against £16,375 on the second day last year, an Increase of £572; a.td for the meeting, £30,485, compared with £29,150, an increase of £1335.

Gisborne Hurdles. —5 Fort George (Gordon) 1; 2 Kendal 2; 4 Silverfish 3. Also started: 1 Garzon, 3 Monte, 6 Kirka, 7 Nowra, 8 Whispering Sam. Won by twelve lengths; a quarter of a length between secund and third. Time 2.52. Maiden Hack.—l Sunlike (R. Reed) 1; 2 Whaikorero 2; 9 Night Gambler 3; Scratched: Mokaukirunga, Royal Mixture. Won by a head; third half a length away. Time 1.9 4-5. Waikanae Handicap. —4 Barrier (McTavish) 1; 6 Chaplin 3 Scotch Mixture 3. Also ran: 7 Battle Knight, 2 The Author, 1 Startle, 5 Tari, 8 Highway, 10 Cleft, 9 Bez.a-.it. Won by a quarter of a length; same between second and third. Time 1.53.

AVon by a nose; third 12 lengths away. Mahia and Ranui fell. Time 5.16 3-5.

Tauranganui Hack Handicap.—l Manuta (Dixon) 1; 6 Princess Rata 2; 4 Royal Heather 3. Also ran: 2 AVaioeka Jack, 5 Carniola, 3 Pita. Won by one length; third, half a length away. Time 1.18 3-5.

Farewell Handicap.—2 haplin (Barry) 1; 1 Nancy Lee 2; 3 Princess Ronnie 3. Also ran: 4 Tari, 5 Piton. Won by a quarter of a length; third thrccquarters of a length away, Timo 1.17.

The South Canterbury Hunt Club’s steeplechase meeting was held in fine, though cold, weather to-cay, Owing to recent rain, the going was heavy. FLEET MEETING. SYDNEY, July 26. The special Randwick race meeting in honour of the American Fleet was largely attended. The weather was fine.
