SOLDIERS’ PLAN TO SPEED UP. (Received June 30 at 10.40 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 30. The question of the migration of British ex-service men within the Empire was under discussion at Monday’s session of the British Empire Service League. Sir Andrew Russell (New Zealand) and others urged the need .of more rapid development under the Empire Settlement Act. Captain Appleby, of Great Britain, promised the British Legion would select for settlement overseas most suitable men and all its best women. General Russell pictured the magnificent resources of the Empire. He said that if the British did not avail them selves of their heritage, others would. General ■Russell seconded a resolution moved by Commander Helt, of Great Britain, to appoint a committee to devise means for promoting more the rapid migration of veterans.
