SETTLED
MILLERTON MINE DISPUTE. The dispute at the Westport Coal Company’s mine at Millerton over the employment of the men in the order of their application has been settled, anTT it is expected that work will be resumed on Saturday. The conference at- which the -uspute was settled was attended by Messrs Coppersmith and Hayward (Denniston), Davidson and McGregor (Millerton) and Russell (Stockton) representing the Miners' Unions, and Messrs J. C. Brown and McCormack (Westport Coal Company) and Crowe (Westport Stockton Company) representing the management. The conference lasted a considerable time. N S.W CITAI, CONFERENCE. SYDNEY. June 30. A compulsory conference of the coal owners and coal miners has commenced to discuss the miners claims for a minimum wage of £5 10s weekly, and a seven hours day. The proceedings are being held in camera.
